We are now a qualified charitable organization!

Arizona’s Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO) tax credit program allows you to determine where some of your taxes go.

What does this mean for you as a donor? Individual taxpayers who live in the state of Arizona qualify for a dollar for dollar tax credit of up to $1,009 if you are a couple filing jointly, or $506 for other filers. You can give to Hope for Tucson at no additional cost to yourself! Of course, we welcome donations of all sizes, both small and large, but the tax credit you can claim is limited to the amounts above.

We have included some questions we often hear. This is not to be considered tax advice - for questions on how to file your employee withholding forms and taxes, please consult your tax advisor.

  • If your tax liability is over $506, or $1,009 respectively, you can claim the entire credit.

If your tax liability is less than $506 or $1,009 respectively, you can claim a credit up to your tax liability.

  • When filing your taxes for the year you will need to file the form 321, and use Hope for Tucson’s QCO Code of 23008

  • You may give donations of any amount. Any amount higher than the maximum tax credit allowable will not be able to be reported on Form 321

  • No, this does not affect any Federal taxes. You can, of course, claim any donations as a deduction if you itemize deductions, but there is no Federal tax credit.
